Before we talk

Let's check we're a fit first.

Twenty-one quick questions in three parts, about four minutes. Answer honestly; there's no score to beat. We only take on a handful of accounts at a time, and we'd rather tell you now than twenty minutes into a call. We save your answers to prepare for the call and improve this check; here's how we handle them.

Who we do our best work with

Our best results have come from clients with these four things in common:

  • Founders who decide fast. You can approve a test on Tuesday and see it live on Wednesday.
  • A strong product with broken marketing. People already buy and come back. The ads, tracking or funnel are what's holding you back.
  • Clean data, or the will to fix it. You'll share real sales numbers and let us fix tracking before we scale.
  • Trust with the whole funnel. Ads, landing pages, offer and follow-up are one system, and you let us treat them that way.

Who we won't work with

We'd rather say this up front than twenty minutes into a call. We're probably the wrong fit if:

  • You sell to businesses. We only work with consumer brands, and with political campaigns and causes.
  • Your ad budget is under $20,000 a month. Below that, a management fee eats too much of the budget. The audit or consulting by the hour is the better start.
  • You sell adult content, MLM or get-rich-quick courses, payday loans or debt products, or vapes, tobacco and cannabis. We don't advertise these, at any budget.
  • You want clicks, likes or boosted posts. Those are the easiest results for a bot to fake, so we won't optimize for them. Here's why.
  • You won't share the numbers that matter. If we can't see your sales or bookings, nobody can tell you what's working, including us.
  • You need the ads to prove the product. Ads scale something people already want. They can't create demand that isn't there, so we start pre-traction brands with consulting instead.
  • You have no budget for new creative. Creative does most of the targeting now. Without a steady supply of new ads, there's nothing to test.
  • Your landing page, offer and funnel are off-limits. Most ad problems are partly funnel problems. We fix what's behind the click too, or we're just buying traffic for a leaky bucket.
  • You want to approve every ad and budget change. Testing only works if we can move daily. If every change waits for sign-off, we're not testing anything.
  • You want someone on chat all day. We check in on Slack or email once or twice a day, with a call every two weeks. The rest of the day goes into your account, which is the work you're paying for.
  • You want someone to execute, not to push back. We treat your account almost like our own business, which makes us loud and opinionated. If you want a yes-man, we're the wrong hire.
  • You want a trial month, or you'd pull the plug the moment a few weeks dip. Testing needs some weeks that go sideways. We work on a 6-month minimum for exactly that reason.
  • You want a guarantee, or to pay only on results. Nobody honest can promise ROAS before seeing your account, and results depend on your product, site and pricing too. We promise clear milestones, honest reporting and early warning.
  • You want to scale before you can measure. Raising spend before tracking works just pays the platform to find more of the wrong people.

Gambling, crypto, high-risk investing, supplements and weight loss are fine, but go in clear-eyed: platform rules are strict, results can be rocky, and the 6-month minimum still applies. And sometimes it's simply not the right problem for us. We only take on accounts we find genuinely interesting, so we'll occasionally turn down a good business. When we do, we'll say why and point you somewhere better.
